物理的な特性:

高強度:ホットプレスされた窒化ケイ素は、HRA硬度値が90〜93に達する世界で最も硬い材料の1つです。

低密度:理論密度はわずか3.19 g/cm³であり、鋼鉄や耐熱性エンジニアリング合金よりも大幅に軽量です。

高温耐性:分解温度は空気中で1,800℃、窒素雰囲気下では110 MPaで1,850℃に達します。

熱安定性:低い熱膨張係数、高い熱伝導性、優れた熱衝撃耐性を特徴としています。 

1,000℃からの冷水で急冷した場合でも、ひびが入ります。

化学的性質:

高温での酸化に強く、熱衝撃にも耐えることができます。

優れた耐摩耗性と本質的に自己潤滑。

強度は長期間使用すると1,200℃以上に低下します。標準動作温度は一般的に1,200℃以下に制限されています。
